Happy New Year To All Lincoln Families, Our staff hopes all of you will have had the chance to enjoy many celebrations with family and friends by the time children return on Monday, January 7th. Set a positive New Year‚s resolution and good luck with reaching successful results.
Connect Ed - This is a reminder once again to please keep our office updated with any phone changes as we depend on our telephone communications for relaying important information. Dr. Joel will typically start morning messages at 6:00 AM for any late starts or school closings.
PTA Planning Night - You are invited to the January meeting on the 8th at 7:00 PM. We welcome new faces and will listen to your ideas for activities and purchases. Our group is very informal and we simply talk about opportunities for Lincoln children.
Family Math Night - Our annual math night is planned for Tuesday, January 15. Detailed notes will be coming when you return after break. Our typical agenda has been to include a mini supper such as hot dogs and chips followed by math games and prizes. Please circle this date on your calendar as we like large crowds.
Dress Code - I am asking parent support in helping us to make sure kids are wearing appropriate clothing to school. On several occasions we‚ve had students wearing pants that are sagging to the knees. This look is not allowed in our district and students must either wear belts or tighter fitting pants. I am out of pieces of rope for holding the pants up, so starting in January, I will be calling parents to either bring a belt or pants that fit to school. Please talk with your child because I‚m sure in most cases the sagging has been done without you knowing it and principals don‚t like calling parents at work for such things.
Parent Meeting - Mrs. Schultz will be holding the monthly parent session on Friday, January 18th at 8:00. Watch for a flyer the end of our first week back from vacation as she is currently in the process of scheduling guest speakers for second semester.
Assessments - The next two months will hold several different testing periods for checking student progress up to this point in the school year. Attendance is so crucial during this time of year so help us by having children here every day possible. It is also important that students are getting enough rest and coming to school with positive attitudes for simply doing their best.
In closing, I want to remind all parents once again that you are welcomed at Lincoln School for visits. Ask your child‚s teacher for a good time to come and catch a half hour lesson of choice or simply call our office before 8:30 AM to order a lunch and join your son/daughter for the noon time.
