I SPY FUN

  Find all of the objects in this scavenger hunt.

HISTORY

  Research some of the historical items found in this text (buffalo nickels, President Roosevelt, poodle skirt, rotary phone, 48-star flag)
       - Draw a picture of the historical item and write some facts about this item.
       -  Make a timeline that indicates where these historical items can be found in history.

CITIZENSHIP

  The citizens in the story all chipped in to help Mrs. McBloom brainstorm solutions to her problem. 

        - Brainstorm ways that you could chip in to help someone in your school or community. 

        - Classify solutions to help out as either needing a group (more than one person) or able to be solved by one person.
             - Which solutions seem to be easier to carry out?  What makes the solution easier to do?

        - With a partner or individually work with your parent/guardian or teacher to experience chipping in to help someone.

        - Make a commercial to share with others how you could can chip in and get involved in your community to be a good           citizen.


SCIENCE

 Plant a bean or pumpkin seed. Observe and chart it's growth

TECHNOLOGY

  Research the changes of technology in the past 50 years.  Make a multimedia project or book to share your findings with others.

 Design a classified ad for a new teacher.
 Make a list or book of slang terms and idioms you like to use and write what they mean.
 Find other words for "said" in this book.
