Tooth Fairy's First Night by Anne Bowen/Reading Level 2.9 Verbal/Linguistic Write your own story about a child losing a tooth and the Tooth Fairy visiting. Visual/Spatial a) Draw a picture of what you think the Tooth Fairy looks like. b) Make a poster showing how to take care of your teeth. Logical/Mathematical a) Ask your classmates how many teeth they have lost. Write down their answers. Make a graph comparing how many teeth the boys have lost and how many the girls have lost. b) Find out if your classmates received money from the Tooth Fairy and how much. Comparing the amounts they received answer these questions: What was the largest amount of money received? What was the smalled amount received? What is the average amount? How does that compare to any money you have gotten from the Tooth Fairy? Naturalist Ask your classmates which tooth they lost first. Looking at the answers you received from your classmates can you figure out which teeth most children loose first? Musical Compose a song about taking care of your teeth. Hide the clues and have some friends try to find the treasure. (Possible prize: a homemade bookmark) b) Act out a skit showing what to do to take care of your teeth. Intrapersonal a) Journal about the day you lost your first tooth. Were you excited? worried? happy or sad?
