I began teaching in the Grand Island Public Schools in 1998.
Serving as a traveling teacher for three years at both Shoemaker and Jefferson
elementary, my title was a Kindergarten Plus Teacher. I moved to Dodge in 2001,
where for three years I taught Kindergarten in the morning and ELL in
the afternoon, serving the Kindergarten Newcomers. Last year, I became a Kindergarten Plus
teacher in the afternoon, rather than Newcomer. This year is
different yet, with me teaching Kindergarten all day long, as Grand
Island Public has adopted All Day Kindergarten and dismissed the
Kindergarten Plus Program that was instituted in 1998.
